Stephen Russell - Managing Director
Despite his youthful appearance, Stephen is 44 and joined Clarion in 1988. Prior to this he had studied Business & Finance at Brighton Polytechnic and then for the Chartered Institute of Marketing's Diploma in Marketing.
Stephen has worked on over 500 events and as Tournament Director of the Golf Club Team Championship of Great Britain and Ireland and for the African PGA in Kenya and Zimbabwe. He has also worked as International Press Liaison Officer for the Benson & Hedges Mixed Team Trophy on the PGA European Tour and as a commissioned photographer for both Golf Weekly and the Daily Mail. He is a former Chairman of Greens at his home club, Woodcote Park and has also been elected to the committee of the Surrey County Golf Union. Stephen was also recently selected to assess a selection of Surrey courses for the Golf World Top 100 Courses.
Stephen has played golf for Surrey for over 25 years. He has played in British Boys, Youths and Amateur Championships and still maintains a very low handicap, playing regularly on the amateur circuit. More recently Stephen was part of the three man team that won the EGU English Champion Club title and represented England in the European Club Cup, finishing a commendable third behind Spain and Portugal. Team mates Kieran Staunton and Zane Scotland, have both since gained PGA European Tour Cards.
In 2007 Stephen ran his first Flora London Marathon in just over four hours. He raised over £6,000 for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity.
Andrew Elliott - Events Director
Andrew already had six years experience in golf event management before joining Clarion Golf in 1997. Andrew had worked for Executive Sports Limited and was responsible for staging corporate golf events for Ford Motors, Kimberly Clark and Tesco, among others.
He had also worked for several years on professional tournaments for the WPGAET and has an excellent working knowledge of staging events in France and Spain.
For two years while at Executive Sports, Andrew also managed the company's golf club at Cranbrook. It gave him an insight into the day to day running of a golf club and experience with computers and software specialised for golf club management. Andrew is now responsible for the staging of all client events and the development of client event websites.
Andrew has a golf handicap of five and has played the sport for 26 of his 39 years.
