BURHILL GOLF CLUB, SURREY |

 |
Burhill, set in rolling Surrey parkland, has undergone many transformations during nearly 300 years of history. It was once the home of the Duchess of Wellington and during World War II, the clubhouse was requisitioned by the Ministry of Aircraft Production and Barnes Wallis designed and created his legendary 'Bouncing Bomb' there.
The Mansion Clubhouse dates back to 1726 and the decor, to compliment the courses, is a combination of old and new, furnished with rich fabric and antiques in the Iveagh Lounge and Honours Bar while a more contemporary design may be found in the Captains Bar and Orangery Bistro.
On offer these days are two very different golfing challenges. The Old and New courses offer a wonderful contrast of golfing tests, in magnificent surroundings.
LOCATION
From London

From the M25
Take junction 10 onto the A3 and travel towards London. Take the first exit off the A3, the Painshill Junction (signposted to Cobham)
At the roundabout off the Painshill slip road, follow the signs to Byfleet. Stay in the right hand lane of this stretch of dual carriageway. After approximately 400 yards turn right at the traffic lights into Seven Hills Road.
After approximately 2 miles, turn right at the mini roundabout, into Burwood Road, signposted to Hersham. Take the second entrance on the right, off Burwood Road.
This is about half a mile down the road, just after the ‘40’ speed limit sign. PLEASE drive slowly down this private road as it crosses the 5th fairway on the Old Course and the front of the 9th tee. Proceed straight on, passing the front of the Clubhouse to the car park behind the Professional’s shop where there is parking for over 200 cars.
